HUMAN EXPLORATION AND OPERATIONS
This project proposal is to fund the design and construction of an atmospheric pressure DC corona plasma discharge system, which will allow us to conduct research on the effects of plasma on bacteria. The versatility of atmospheric pressure plasma (APP) allows us to apply its benefits to multiple biomedical applications on both bacteria and mammalian tissue. This is useful for terrestrial and/or extraterrestrial applications that pertain to near-atmospheric pressure. The goal of our project is to apply our research to the medical field where it has recently become clear that plasma has potential in many areas, including sterilization, wound therapy and cancer treatment.\
