Provide continuing education for secondary teachers and a hands-‐on learning experience for middle and high school students through a 3D Printing and Design Workshop. The workshop will be held in conjunction with the FIRST Tech Challenge kick off for the 2015-‐2016 season, but will not be limited to students or teachers competing. The two-‐day workshop will be held at Mt. Edgecumbe High School and walk students and teachers through the engineering design process, with a focus on new skills in design and prototyping using 3D printing. Additional sessions at the workshop will focus on project management and documentation. The in-‐person training will be followed up on with Google Hangout sessions, online collaboration, and presentations at the FIRST Tech Challenge Regional competition to be held in Sitka in January 2016. A special award will be given at the Regional recognizing one team’s work in 3D Printing and Design.
