SCIENCE
Fusion reactors could potentially provide cheap and abundant energy to humans around the globe and are the focus of various research
projects worldwide and start-up companies intending to build the world’s first commercially viable fusion reactor. Such reactors would have extensive applications in outer-space technology and would be relevant to NASA’s strategic objective 3.1 by pursuing the development of a technology that greatly advances economic prosperity and global competitiveness. Our research centers on studying plasma physics in the context of particle-trapping scenarios in order to advance the science of building such reactors by using accessible and versatile models that could be applied to various plasma trap geometries.
