Alaska Research CubeSat: Communications System

SPACE TECHNOLOGY

This proposal seeks to develop software for the Communications subsystem (COMM) of the Alaska Research CubeSat (ARC2) mission. The purpose of ARC2 is to gather data that characterizes the vibration and thermal environment inside a launch vehicle. This data will help the CubeSat community design better satellites by specifying the range of vibration and thermal profiles CubeSat satellites must endure during launch. The COMM subsystem is responsible for transmitting this data from the satellite to the ground while in orbit. Therefore, the development of the COMM subsystem and the continuation of the ARC2 mission is useful to NASA in accordance with TX08.3.4 (Environment Sensors).
