Challenger Learning Center

Challenger Learning Center of Alaska is located in Kenai, Alaska. Our mission is educating and inspiring the workforce of today and tomorrow. We achieve this by offering a variety of learning opportunities that immerse our students in STEM related activities focusing on broadening and refining their skills in collaboration, critical thinking, creativity and communication.
We are currently seeking two intern for summer 2025 to support the development of engaging STEM curriculum and to support student learning.
Tasks may include, and are not limited to:
- Assisting with the updating of current programs and development of potential curriculum programs
- Beta testing programs and activities
- Assisting in the delivery of summer camps and other programs
- Technology inventory
- Identifying needs and opportunities with current technology
The ideal applicant will have a solid background in STEM and an interest in youth STEM education. An interest in and experience with technology/IT is preferred but not necessary.

Students must be enrolled in an Alaskan institute of higher education to qualify, preferably in an Education or Engineering Program and must enjoy working with students and a passion for STEM work. Background check will be required. Internships will be conducted at the Challenger Learning Center of Alaska in Kenai. The stipend is $7,300, and students will be expected to work full-time for 10 weeks. Dates negotiable. No housing or transportation is provided.
Eligibility and U.S. Citizenship Requirement
Alaska Industry Internships are open to students who meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Enrolled at an Alaskan institution of higher education during the period of the award.
- Good academic standing
- U.S. Citizen
