FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Robotics Training for Students
One week day camp on the UAF campus, Fairbanks, AK
June 25-29, Monday thru Friday, 8-5pm
This module will cover the mechanical, electrical and software (LabVIEW) aspects of building and programming a Lego Tetrix robot to compete in the Alaska FTC competitions. This will be a hands-on course from the beginning to the end.
Mechanical topics covered will include gearing, torque and speed, four-bar linkages and over-center mechanisms and chassis design (stability versus turning). Electrical topics covered will include dc motor characteristics, encoders, servos, sensors and controllers. Software topics will cover controlling all of the above with LabVIEW.
The cost of the camp is $300 plus a $25 registration fee. Space is limited, so your registration fee will not be charged unless you are accepted.

Michael has taught advanced robotics at ASRA for many years. Michael teaches FLL and FTC as classes and coaches robotics teams in the Matsu school disctrict. Michael has a lot of fun with robots, Legos, computers and phones, hacking and combining them in new and fun ways.
